Last Friday I was elated to present on the topic of Go-To-Market for the 2nd It Takes a Village cohort. I love everything about Going to Market. I love writing about it, talking about it, and trying to be as creative as possible when it comes to it.
I structured the lab to be conversational and applicable to the real world. The slides are prompts to discuss real life examples and then more importantly, how each tactic applies to the entrepreneurs in the room. The hour and a half felt like 15 minutes!
There were many conclusions drawn in conversation, but here are three high-level takeaways:
- The best way to market your product is through your product. Try to pair your product and go-to-market strategy on day 1.
- Find a marketing tactic that works for your business and triple down on it…while doing everything else of course.
- Sales at the beginning stage of the company is most difficult. You don’t have sales scripts, your ideal customer profile is likely changing, and spending your days receiving mostly “no’s” is incredibly hard. Just know you are not alone and persevere.
There were so many great discussions from the talk, I look forward to the next one. Thank you Justin, Karen, and D-Light for the opportunity!
