Over the weekend I spent several hours pressure washing. The process is meditative. After the first few minutes I realized two aspects quickly: one, everyone becomes detailed oriented once a pressure washer gets put in their hands. Two, the process takes much longer than I remembered. So, I put in my music and went to town. During the process I just kept repeating to myself: “brick by brick.” If you focus on each brick, a few hours later you look back and realize the area covered is meaningful. As I kept repeating to myself “brick by brick” I also thought of other areas where this applies to life and the parallels were vast. Engineering, sales, reading, writing, working out…really anything someone is building, creating, or improving.
When smart people begin expounding on why It’s Time to Build and you’re wondering how to get started, grab the tools necessary and start brick by brick.
